In 1966, Swiss physicist and keen target shooter, Claude Thalmann, grew tired of having to walk the length of the 300-metre range to score the shots of fellow shooters during competitions. Determined to come up with a solution, he developed a prototype for the world’s first electronic scoring system in his garage at home, allowing the shooter’s target to be scored remotely from the firing point. As interest in his prototype grew, he formed Polytronic and began the manufacture and sale of the innovative system for both civilian and military use in Switzerland.

From these humble beginnings, Polytronic International AG has grown into a world leading provider of advanced targetry systems and range design, construction and maintenance services. With headquarters and factories in Muri Switzerland, Polytronic has agents on five continents. Its cutting edge products and services are used at over 1000 ranges in 80 countries worldwide to support training that spans anything from basic marksmanship through to close quarter battle and complex combined arms live-fire.

In order to meet demand within the region, Polytronic Training Systems LLC formed in 2016. It has since delivered a series of significant contracts to military, police and civilian clients in the UAE. Polytronic Training Systems LLC has more than 110 staff focused on the delivery of major projects and maintains an office and logistics facility in Abu Dhabi. Polytronic Training Systems LLC is managed and operated by a mix of former military professionals with significant contemporary operational experience, allowing us to speak the same language as our clients and deeply understand the importance of providing the best outcomes for the end-user. Supporting our military professionals, are engineers and technical professionals with vast experience in the structural design, operation and maintenance of world class training facilities.
